Annual Conference

This year’s Scottish Labour Party conference will be taking place in Glasgow between Friday, 4 March to Sunday, 6 March 2022.

Scotland deserves better than two failing governments more interested in an ‘us vs them’ race to the bottom.

We’ve rolled up our sleeves to protect one another because we know that making this country the best place in the world means all of us working together.

Scottish Labour wants to bring our country together, to make it fairer and our communities stronger.

As Boris Johnson’s corrupt government continues to attack working people – we know politics isn’t about just opposing the Tories – it is about electing a Labour government to replace the Tories.

We know that after 14 years of SNP failure – and more than £1billion in local government cuts – it is not enough to oppose the SNP, we have to replace the SNP

We are the alternative to the SNP and the Tories, who want to drag us back to the divisive arguments of the past.

It shouldn’t be as hard as it is for people to get by, for families to have hope for their children’s future, for businesses to thrive and for us all to have access to the services on which we most rely.

So as we meet ahead of council elections we must be focussed on giving people the chance to choose something better.

To choose investment in our NHS and care system to get it back on its feet – and reward our frontline heroes properly.

To make politics about bringing our country and our people together – not the politics of anger and division.

To fight for fair funding to revitalise our high streets and town centres and invest in local services.

To invest in a real education recovery for children who’ve lost out on so much.

To vote for public transport that gets you where you need to go, when you need it and doesn’t cost the earth.

Because people deserve better.

Conference in Glasgow gives us an opportunity to restate our Labour values and communicate them to people across Scotland.

It is an important chance to bring together our party membership, trade union affiliates and socialist societies – and deliver the alternative our country needs.
