About Jackie

Jackie Baillie was elected to represent the Dumbarton constituency in 1999. She is the only Scottish Labour MSP to have won her seat continuously in every election. When Scottish Labour was in government, Jackie served as the Deputy Minister for Communities and the Minister for Social Justice, developing ground breaking legislation on homelessness.

She has previously served as Scottish Labour Economy Spokesperson and is currently Scottish Labour’s Finance Spokesperson. Jackie was elected as Deputy Leader of Scottish Labour in April 2020 and is currently acting interim leader until a new leader is elected. Jackie is active within both the GMB and USDAW and is a member of the Cooperative Party.
