Labour Parliamentary Research Academy

The Labour Research Academy is a free short training programme offering an introduction to the essential skills required to work in parliamentary politics.

Experienced Labour politicians and activists will share their insights and expertise on a range of topics, including:

  • Parliamentary research
  • Legislation
  • Parliamentary scrutiny
  • Parliamentary campaigns
  • Political strategy

Successful applicants will commit to attending five online training sessions (evenings of August 18th, 20th, 25th, 27th, and September 1st) and a half-day in-person training event in Edinburgh on Friday 11th September 2026.

​At the end of the programme, you will use the skills you have gained to produce an assessed piece of written work in order to earn certification.

This programme would be suitable for those seeking to upskill for a career change into parliamentary work, for recent graduates or to researchers looking to reskill.
