Reform & Tories: Same Team, Different Badge

Commenting on the appointment of Lord Offord as Reform’s leader in Scotland, Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar said “Lord Offord’s appointment confirms that Reform are simply Tories in disguise – the same team, with a different badge.

“Like so much of Reform’s top brass, Lord Offord was a loyal member of the Tory party until he saw a chance for personal gain.

“He has bankrolled Tory campaigns and served in the disastrous governments of Boris Johnson and Liz Truss, which did so much damage to our country.

“No-one is buying the pretence that Lord Offord is any kind of champion for working people – he is establishment through and through.  

“Just like the Tories before them, Reform don’t understand or care about Scotland.

“Nigel Farage and his supporting cast of self-promoting chancers have no answers to the challenges Scotland faces and no chance of removing the SNP from office.

“The poison and division of Reform are nothing but noise in this election and I have no doubt that the people of Scotland will reject them once again.

“Only Scottish Labour can beat the SNP and deliver a new direction for Scotland – fixing our NHS, creating opportunities for the next generation, making our communities safer and delivering for working people.”
