Change has begun

Delivering for Scotland

As we mark 100 days since the Labour government was elected – with 37 Scottish Labour MPs at its heart – the new Labour government has:

  • Set up a Child Poverty Taskforce to tackle poverty across the country.

  • Established a National Wealth Fund to create well-paid jobs.

  • Scrapped the Tories’ cruel and unworkable Rwanda plan.

  • Started work to improve access for Scottish patients to cutting-edge clinical trials.

  • Established a Covid Corruption Commissioner to get back our money.

  • Launched GB Energy – based in Aberdeen – to bring down bills, deliver jobs and put Scotland at the forefront of the global transition to green energy.

  • Secured a recognition deal with Brazil for Scotch whisky worth up to £25 million.

  • Introduced legislation for our New Deal for Working People –  the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation which will deliver a genuine living wage, end fire and rehire and scrap exploitative zero hours contracts.

At the same time, the incoming Labour government has faced down far-right riots, pushed for peace in the Middle East and recommitted our support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

And we’re only just getting started.
