Nicola Sturgeon’s shameful NHS record
04 September, 2018
Across Scotland’s NHS, patients and staff are paying the price of a decade of SNP mismanagement, and a failure to use the powers of the Scottish Parliament to properly fund our health service.
Nicola Sturgeon’s decision to put nationalism first and our NHS second has caused a crisis in our hospital wards.
Patients and staff are being failed by the SNP government.

Here are some of the key figures released today on the SNP’s record on health.
- Unfilled nursing and midwifery posts are on the rise.
- The number of vacant consultancies posts left unfilled for six months is up 17.9 per cent in the last year.
- Waiting time performance for child mental health at a record low.
- More than 500 operations cancelled in our hospitals due to a lack of resources.
New figures released today show more than 500 operations were cancelled in July as our hospitals couldn’t cope.
As Nicola Sturgeon sets out her programme for government she should reflect on her decade of failure.
