Help us build a country for the many

Everyone deserves access to a safe and secure, affordable home. That’s why tackling the scandal of homelessness, rough sleeping, soaring rents and too few affordable homes is at the heart of our plans for real change for Scotland.

Mary Barbour Law

Our proposals for a Mary Barbour law will seek to regulate the private rented sector to ensure that no one is forced to rent a home that pushes them into poverty.

A home is a basic fundamental human right. The Scottish Parliament must ensure that that everyone can exercise this right to live in security, peace, and dignity.

While the SNP tinkers around the edges, Labour will deliver real change.

Over the coming months we will contact thousands of tenants and landlords as part of a major discussion paper to guide their reforms to the private rented sector.

We want to hear from you. You can read our proposals here, and join the discussion below.

Together let’s tell the Tories and the SNP to stop ignoring the housing crisis, and fix it before it’s too late.
